I was born in South Carolina, raised in Brooklyn, New York, and reside in Georgia. I began my studies at Adelphi University and later transferred to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City to study Criminal Justice Administration and Planning.
I have always been passionate about helping people who are facing challenges.
Never would I imagine my journey within the criminal and social justice arena would encompass incarceration, addiction, behavioral health, and homicide within my immediate family. However, I came to this resolution years ago: "This is the mission of my calling when I said "Yes, Lord, I'll go" in that parking lot years ago. My foundational scripture is Romans 8:28
"And we know All Things, work together for the good of them who love The Lord and are called according to his purpose."
I believe the purpose of this indoctrination has sanctioned my ability to empathize and advocate for impacted individuals and families on both sides of the justice-involved spectrum."
We aim to promote resilience, equity, and opportunity for at-risk or justice-involved youth and adults by fostering access to information and supportive services. Providing directives or relative referrals makes the process less intimidating for many.
We Support the reintegration of citizens returning to the community. Georgia has thousands of people who have never entered a prison yet have felonies. Many adults have children and experience barriers to housing and employment. Connecting community service providers and impacted constituents is rewarding. We believe holding people accountable and responsible can help them thrive as contributing members of their families and communities.
Our Youth Learners to Leaders initiative is founded upon the belief that "It's hard to be what you can not see or imagine.
We believe community engagement and diverse enrichment opportunities help youth identify their capabilities.
Team EXCEL-Y.E.S Leaders are celebrated mentors and group program facilitators with pictures of success. Y.E.S!
